An existing storage terminal in the Netherlands has the ambition to be prepared for the expansion of capacity for the storage of future sustainable fuels. The goal is to store (e)methanol and\/or (bio)ethanol, due to their similar storage and processing requirements. eFuelution has been approached to support the techno-economic development of this expansion.<\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t

The terminal wants to future-proof its infrastructure to respond to the increasing demand for sustainable fuels. This requires a detailed understanding of the technical and operational requirements for the storage of (e)methanol and (bio)ethanol. In addition, the economic feasibility of different expansion scenarios must be assessed in order to make the right investment.<\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t

eFuelution has carried out several activities to support the customer in the preparation phase of this project:<\/p>

  1. Technical and operational analysis<\/strong>: Identify and document the requirements for the storage and handling of (e)methanol and (bio)ethanol.<\/li>
  2. Scenario development<\/strong>: Developing multiple scenarios for the expansion of the terminal. For each scenario, technical concepts have been designed and the corresponding capital investments have been calculated.<\/li>
  3. Economic model<\/strong>: The technical and financial data have been entered into eFuelution’s own business model. The results of the model gave the customer insight into the potential markets for these future products.<\/li><\/ol>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t
